Partnering with the Carolina Climbers Coalition for the Moore’s Wall event!

Step into the world of traditional (trad) climbing with this hands-on clinic designed for climbers looking to expand their skills beyond sport and top rope. You'll learn how to confidently place passive and active protection in real rock, evaluate placements for quality and security, and build three-piece anchors using natural and gear-based options. The day includes mock lead practice, where you'll place gear while on top rope, giving you the chance to develop judgment and flow in a low-consequence setting. This clinic is ideal for those curious about leading trad or wanting to understand what goes into a safe and well-managed trad climb.

What a pleasure you were to have on this course. Thanks for showing up prepared, with good questions, and ready to engage in the learning process. It was obvious to me that you are dedicated to becoming a better guide and furthering this industry.

AMGA Rock Guide Course

Man in outdoor climbing gear adjusting a rope setup on a rocky surface.

Trevor gave an outstanding, concise (20 minutes) lesson on rope coils which covered the various learning styles (visual, kinetic, auditory, reading). It was hard to imagine that this could be a lesson but we all learned a lot, got to work in small groups, and got to try on all the different coil styles. It was an unexpected bonus to receive Trevor's lesson plan/framework the morning of the lesson; it's nice to be able to read/follow along. All in all, great lesson!
